Welcome to another Photo a Day Collection! There is no great overarching theme set by Fat Mum Slim again this month, and as things were busy I’m taking it easy.

I was away from home at the end of the month.

Sept 1st – What I’m reading

If you’ve put up with my photo blog for a number of years, or follow me on Instagram, then you probably know that I love books, and read lots.  I don’t feel complete if I don’t have a book on the go (or a plan on what is coming next). I also have a blend of books for work and books for pleasure.

This year I thought I would branch out a little bit with my books for pleasure and read some Agatha Christie (not having read any before, but I have watched the classic BBC TV series with Joan Hickson, and also the ITV Poirots with David Suchet).  And I’ve decided to read the Miss Marple series.

Delighted to start the month off with a photo being chosen as one of the Fab Four.

Sept 2nd – Tasty

Like yesterday, if you’ve been around for a while, then you know that I really don’t like food photography (two years ago I managed a month of Food without photographing any food) so I wasn’t too sure what to photograph for today.

However, the PaD Gods smiled on me,  as someone shoved this leaflet through my door just as I was getting ready to leave for work.

Sept 3rd – I use this daily

My shower.  Although being totally honest, if I’m not leaving the house I might forgo a shower.  But pretty much every day.  I could possibly have cleaned it before photographing it, but this wasn’t too bad for 6am .

Sept 4th – Fave jewellery

Hmmm this is one of those prompts where I can feel myself whine “It would be easier if I was a woman/have a child/have a pet” but I can be creative.

I do have some items of jewellery and this is them:

  • A kingfisher brooch my SO gave me for Xmas,
  • An ankh given to me by a dear friend who introduced me to Reiki (and gave me my first Reiki Attunement).
  • A wolf’s head pendant that I bought in Sedona (on a real impulse) when I went for my first Myofascial Release courses with John F Barnes, back in March 2017.
  • A slighlty random pendant that I bought in Sydney Australia back in December 2001, becuase one of the shapes looks slike mhy initials, and that helped to design my little man logo.

Sept 5th – Free choice

The Walthamstow Wetlands are currently having a Tove Jannson exhibition with characters from the Moomins dotted around, and this is Snorkmaiden sitting on her own playing with the flowers in her hair.

Sept 6th – Best part of my day

I was at work today, and I do love the working on clients, but that’s not easy to photograph, but I also love heading home after a busy day’s work.

Sept 7th – Mailbox

A victorian wall post box, which is what we call them in the UK rather than Mailbox.  This can be found outside the west gate of Fountain’s Abbey in Yorkshire.

Sept 8th – 4 o’clock

4 o’clock is time for tea…

…except for me as I don’t like black tea, so a herbal infusion for me…

Sept 9th – Begins with M

Begins with M, is it a Masked vigilante?

Nope, it’s Me, a Masked Myofascial Therapist.

Sept 10th – What I’m watching

I’m enjoying the Marvel’s What If…? series on TV.

These words are part of an installation for the Culture Mile back in January 2020, and the whole thing read “What are you going to meet if you turn this corner?”

Sept 11th – How I feel today

I felt in a mischievous mood this morning, so played around with “I feel pretty, I feel silly, so I feel pretty silly…”

This caused a lot of people to laugh, and was wonderully chosen as one of the Notable Nine.

Sept 12th – This is useful

So many things are useful, and I couldn’t really think of anything.  My SO suggested the garlic press as it would be photogenic and is useful, and also easy(ish) to clean.

Sept 13th – On my wall

Art… lots and lot of art… or else bookshelves….

This is my stairs after I had added the mini Star Wars vehicle prints by an artist called TokyoSexWhale.  I’m sure there’s an interesting story behind his choice of name…

Sept 14th – Happy

I always feel a bit weird with this prompt, as suddenly I don’t know what to photograph.  But when I woke up, it was throwing it down with rain, so I was very happy I didn’t need to go out.  Other than to take a photo for this prompt.

Sept 15th – A pet

I no longer have a pet, so a difficult prompt.  But this is my brother’s kitten (named Mittens) who I met at a family gathering back in June.

Sept 16th – Begins with E

Elephant, one of a series of herds that graced London Parks this soummer.

Sept 17th – Plant

A beautiful plant with bright yellow flowers, and visiting winged creature.

Sept 18th – Mess

No matter how well you start, somehow cables always end up a mess.

Sept 19th – Chair

Striped, and of a deck chair variety.

Sept 20th – I believe…

I believe that the Truth is Out There (I love The X-Files) and I’m also fairly certain that I can see aliens in my Aconite, which has finally started to flower.

Sept 21st – A pile

A pile of bowls waitin to be washed up.

Sept 22nd – Hobby

Wildlife photography is probably my hobby, and drinking coffe, and also eating pastries…

…There were gquite a few in the group that also liked these hobbies.

Sept 23rd – Mirror

Mirror making it look like I have even more art.

Sept 24th – Sad

This statue looks to me to show such grief.  But on researching the artist I have discovered it is entitled “The Prodigal Son” and it is by Charles Mackesy, who is the artist behind “The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse”. This is the book that seems to have been delivered to the world at just the right time as it helped so many through the Pandemic.

Sept 25th – Rows

Rows of lights in the Barbican Tunnel, through which I walk on my way to and from the Clerkenwell Clinic

Sept 26th – Behind me

My parents and my long suffering SO at the start of our holiday.

Sept 27th – Portrait

An honest, straight from the shower, self portrait.

Sept 28th – Landscape

The Guernsey coastline, with the MP4 Observation tower left after the German occupation during the Second World War.

Sept 29th – On my desk

Not a lot on my desk on this day, as I was on holiday.  But as I share a desk at Clerkenwell there is not much on the desk anyway.

Sept 30th – Achievement

An acheievement for me (whilst on hoiday) was to climb the Victoria Tower overlooking St Peter Port, especially as I’m not that good with heights.

So that’s it for this month, and I hope you enjoy them.  I was delighted to be chosen twice for the Fab Four/Notable Nine by the admin team.  Interestingly both were for Self Portraits of me.

October is going to be an interesting month and if you can’t wait to see what I’m posting then  follow me  my Instagram feed. There will be another summary of my photos next month.

Thanks for reading this, my lovely interonauts,

Tim
