Carrying on from last week’s post, here are the next set of pictures from this year’s December Reflections. I do love doing the December Reflections prompts, even though this is only my second year of doing it. The prompts from Susannah Conway are very helpful and some get you thinking a bit deeper than others.

Day 8 – Green

I have a small (and getting larger) collection of Yoga Joes. They are an idea that takes the plastic soldiers that children play with and change them to be doing something peaceful, like Yoga. This is a giant one meditating, and he’s wonderful.

Day 9 – Biggest Change in 2017

A beard! It was started in Sedona and it is still here. Growing my beard has also coincided with an increased self confidence, and some happiness in having photos taken of me… Some of that is down to an inner journey I was able to undertake on the courses to reclaim a part of me from my childhood when I fainted in front of the whole school in the school play and suddenly became very introverted. I had never really understood the impact this event has had on my life.

Day 10 – Softness

of petals, of colour… My work is all about Softness (the MFR I practice is low load, long duration; the Scaravelli Yoga I teach is very much about softening tension and listening to your body). However, internally I am quite harsh upon myself (the inner critic can be quite nasty at times), and push myself to meet my high standards (bit of a perfectionist) and drive myself to complete everything I believe I need to get done. I’m working on being softer on myself, but without losing all motivation…

Day 11 – I discovered that…

…I am not alone in having multiple passions that constantly pull me in different directions. I love my job as a Myofascial Release Therapist/Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist/Reiki Master, but I also love being a Yoga Teacher, writing, learning about anything that takes my fancy. Seeing where these passions intersect and support each other is a fun thing to investigate and I have, thanks to @ginger.urchin, discovered that it’s OK (in fact a great thing) to be like this…. Now where’s the next interesting thing… Constantly curious…

Day 12 – Reflection

a time to pause and contemplate the world, my role, my actions within it and my life…

Day 13 – 5 things about me

1) I love my root vegetables (carrots, swedes, turnips, parsnips) raw and detest them cooked…

2) I am NOT a morning person (ideal is getting out of bed at 8am)

3) I was first introduced to Yoga when I was 8 (over 35 years ago) and have been doing it off and on from then on (tbh mostly off, but consistently for the last 6.5 years) and now I’m a yoga teacher…

4) I have a BSc (Hons) in Geography from Bristol University…

5) On my third “career” (retail, IT, bodywork) and not planning to change in the near future…

Day 14 – 10 years ago

Wow, 2007 feels like a different world… I was in a different career and it was a turbulent year. I was in IT at that time, my job was outsourced and I was transferred with it. Whilst, I really enjoyed the people I worked with I didn’t really cope with the upheaval (my former colleagues became my clients) and I never enjoyed the job. However, the manager I worked with identified that I need to constantly learn and this ultimately led me to train as a Sports/Remedial Massage Therapist. On a more positive note, my SO and I went to Venice for a week (hence the photo) and we also went to the Edinburgh Fringe (and then a wonderful week to recover in the wilds of Scotland)…

So that’s another week of prompts done. I do hope you liked them, and also the words. There are still more to come, in next week’s installment. If you are enjoying them then please do follow me on Instagram (@RelaxRenewUK)

Thanks for looking at this.
